Kano firefighters rescue 13 from collapsed building in Fagge

The Kano State Fire Service has rescued 13 people following the collapse of a residential building at Dan Dishe, Kwanar Yashi, in Fagge Local Government Area of the state.

This is contained in a statement issued by the service’s Public Relations Officer, Saminu Abdullahi, on Saturday in Kano.

According to the statement, the service received a distress call on the incident at about 04:32 a.m. from a personnel, Aminu Sani-Warure, at the service’s Emergency Response Unit.

“Upon receiving the report, the service immediately mobilsed firemen to the scene.

“The collapsed building measures about 20 by 30 feet. About 13 victims were rescued.

“Three of the victims were unconscious, while the identities of those rescued alive are yet to be ascertained.

“The cause of the collapse is under investigation,” the statement said.

The service urged members of the public to observe necessary safety precautions, particularly during the rainy season, to prevent similar incidents.
