Kano ADC swears in caretaker committee

Following the dissolution of all the state executives of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Nigeria, the Kano state chapter of the party Monday swore in a caretaker committee to cater for the affairs of the party.
However, the local government chairmen of the party and their traditional leadership will remain in their positions.
This was announced by the deputy national chairman of the party, (Northwest) Hajiya Naja’atu Muhammad, at a press briefing in Kano.
She stated that every action taken in the process by the party as regards the caretaker committee was guided by the Constitution of the party and the Electoral Act.
“Every action taken has been guided by the constitution of our party, the Electoral Act, and our collective responsibility to protect the future of the ADC in Kano State.
“Our constitution exists precisely for moments such as this. It provides a lawful path to restore stability, preserve continuity and ensure that the activities of the party continue uninterrupted. That is exactly what has been done,” Naja’atu stated.
Reminding the newly appointed members of the committee of what is before them, the deputy national chairman stated that they have an enormous responsibility to ensure the objectives of the party are achieved in the state.
“To every member of the newly inaugurated Caretaker Committee, I say this: remember always that leadership is a trust, not a privilege. Lead with patience. Lead with restraint. Lead with justice. Listen before you decide. Consult before you act. Unite before you organise.
“The success of your tenure will not be measured by how many decisions you make, but by how many members you are able to bring back together under one banner” she stated.
Those sworn-in as members of the caretaker committee, include Umar Bala as the chairman of the committee and Ismail Musa as the secretary.
Shedding light over the selection of the governorship candidate of the party in Kano, she declared that the process was purely Constitutional and transparent.
