It Would Be 'Very Bad' – Trump Warns Russia and China Against Arming Iran,

President Trump claimed that Presidents Xi of China and Putin of Russia assured him they would not supply weapons to Iran amid rising tensions in the Middle East.

US President Donald Trump said Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin have assured him that their countries will not provide weapons to Iran, as tensions in the Middle East continue to draw global attention.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said Xi made the commitment during their recent meeting in Beijing, stressing that neither the Chinese government nor Chinese companies would sell arms to the Islamic Republic.

“President Xi, at our recent meeting in Beijing, China, told me that he would not, under any circumstances, give or sell Weapons to the Islamic Republic of Iran. And that statement included Chinese Companies,” Trump wrote.

Trump said he trusted Xi’s assurance and pointed to the strong relationship between the two leaders.

“Considering our relationship, I take him at his word and, besides, I am doing him very big favors, also,” he added.

The US president also claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin had given a similar assurance despite the ongoing war in Ukraine.

“President Putin, despite the horrible War going on in Ukraine, told me that he would not sell Weapons to Iran,” Trump said.

Trump noted that his relationship with both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy remains intact despite the conflict.

Addressing criticism over military aid to Ukraine, Trump reiterated that the United States does not directly sell weapons to Kyiv.

“He understands that I do not sell Weapons to Ukraine, but to NATO Countries. They pay full price, and how those Weapons are distributed, I have no idea,” Trump said.

The president argued that concerns about China and Russia arming Iran may be overstated, suggesting that neither country is actively supporting Tehran’s military capabilities.

“Therefore, two major Countries that people speak of often in terms of Iran are, in my opinion, not participating,” he wrote.

Trump also issued a warning, saying any decision by either country to arm Iran would have serious consequences.

“If they did, it would be very bad for them — certainly not in their best interests.”

The remarks come amid heightened scrutiny of Iran’s military ties with global powers and growing concerns over regional security in the Middle East. Neither Beijing nor Moscow has publicly commented on Trump’s latest claims.
