Iranian state media released footage revealing significant damage to the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s compound in Tehran, following US-Israel strikes.

In a first, the Iranian state media on Wednesday released the footage showing the extent of damage to the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s compound in Tehran. The 35-second video shows extensive structural damage and debris inside the Imam Khomeini Hussainiya, the prayer hall located within Khamenei’s Tehran compound.

The footage highlights the scale of destruction caused by the US-Israel strikes, with parts of the complex appearing heavily damaged. The building had served as the main venue for Khamenei’s public addresses throughout his rule.

The unseen visuals were made public to coincide with Khamenei’s burial on Thursday, July 9. The first official glimpse inside the compound following the attack comes as Iran observes Khamenei’s burial ceremonies.

Khamenei was killed on February 28, the first day of the US-Israeli war on Iran. Several members of his family, including his 14-month-old granddaughter, were also killed in the attack. His son, Mojtaba Ali Khamenei, who has since assumed the role of Iran’s Supreme Leader, was also reportedly injured in the strikes.

The casket lay in state at the Tehran Grand Mosalla and was processed through the streets of Tehran and Qom.

Before being returned to Iran, the coffin was transported through the Iraqi Shia holy cities of Najaf and Karbala, drawing millions of mourners.

He later warned that the United States would intensify its military action against Iran if Tehran continued attacking commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump also claimed that Iran had called him asking to make a deal after the repeated US strikes in the region. “They called a little while ago, they want to make a deal so badly,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One en route back from the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey. “I just don’t know if they’re worthy of making a deal.”
