The Rivers West senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Vincent Job, has declared that his decision to contest the senatorial seat against his erstwhile political boss, Bro. Felix Obuah, would not affect their relationship.

He pledged to remain 100 per cent loyal” to the former Rivers State PDP Chairman.

Job, who made the declaration in an interview in Omoku in Ogba Egbema Local Government Area of Rivers state said his contest against Obuah, who is seeking the same seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was not a do-or-die affair.

He described Obuah as his brother, friend and political boss, stressing that their participation in the same race did not mean they were quarrelling.

According to him, both candidates remained part of the same political family and were “in the same political boat” of their chief mentor, Nyesom Wike.

Job said whoever emerged victorious at the polls would congratulate the other in the spirit of sportsmanship, insisting that the senatorial contest would not create rancour or divide their political family.

He also assured that the contest, which he described as a brotherly one, would not degenerate into violence.

The PDP candidate expressed confidence in his grassroots support across the eight local government areas of Rivers West, describing his supporters as “organic.”

While acknowledging that the contest would be tough, Job promised to provide quality representation for the people of the senatorial district if elected.

He urged the electorate to embrace peace, stressing that election was not a do-or-die affair and that whoever emerged victorious would be expected to carry others along.
