If Fubara Had Told Us Where He Stood, Rivers People Would Never Have Taken That Dangerous Risk" Ewor
According to a video posted on Arise News on Thursday July 23, 2026, Dr. Robinson Ewor said the risks taken by Rivers people in defence of Governor Siminalayi Fubara could have been avoided had the governor simply told the public where he stood in his dealings with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
Ewor said many Rivers residents, including elders and women who staged street protests, acted without knowing that key concessions had already been made.
Awa explained that Fubara’s silence throughout the crisis left the public exposed, defending a position the governor himself had already abandoned in private negotiations.
He said this lack of communication, more than any political disagreement, is what he considers the core failure of Fubara’s leadership during the crisis. GET FULL STORY HERE.
