The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has rated the Kebbi state governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, as one of the best-performing governors in Nigeria.

The commendation was contained in a statement by  the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ahmed Idris, where he stated that the minister lauded his principal  when the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed, paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

The minister applauded Idris for his remarkable achievements across various sectors of governance, noting that the he had “transformed the state capital and significantly improved infrastructure and development across Kebbi state.”

The minister recalled his visit to the state last year, saying he had the opportunity to witness some of the developmental projects executed by the administration.

“I was in Kebbi state last year and know exactly what the governor has done. Even the newly constructed civil servants’ secretariat shows that he is a true Comrade,” he said.

He expressed appreciation for the governor’s achievements in various sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture and youth empowerment.

Idris also commended the governor’s media aides for the courtesy visit and for presenting a comprehensive scorecard of the administration’s achievements.

He further highlighted the contributions of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to the development of Kebbi state.

He reeled out major projects, including the Lagos–Badagry Superhighway and the construction of houses for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), among others.

According to him, Kebbi state has the highest number of kilometres benefiting from the Lagos–Badagry Superhighway project, noting that the completion of the road would significantly boost the socio-economic development of the state and Nigeria at large.
