Davido, the Grammy-nominated singer, has spoken out about his plans to construct a mental health therapy center for formerly popular and successful celebrities.

In a recent interview, the hitmaker discussed the immense pressure of fame and criticism that football icon Cristiano Ronaldo faced during the 2018 World Cup.

The 33-year-old Nigerian artist expressed concern about the psychological toll of celebrity life, particularly the challenge to stay relevant after reaching the pinnacle.

“If there is one thing I could do, I would build a centre for people that have been popular and very successful before,” he replied.

“A centre for therapy…because it’s crazy to be on top of the world and then not be.”

“Even in football, you win all these awards, Champions League, World Cup, and people still don’t feel like it’s enough.”

The singer also stated that he frequently prays for the wisdom to know when to move away from music at the height of his career.

He emphasized the difficulty of keeping public support despite substantial accomplishments.

“Like, look at Ronaldo, when he left the World Cup, he’s my friend by the way, when he left the World Cup, I remember being on the internet, and they were abusing him so much,” he said.

“After all he has done. That is my greatest dread. I worked too hard. “I always ask God to tell me the right time…”
