Prominent Nigerian media personality and author Chude Jideonwo has opened up about his harrowing battle with depression, revealing that he contemplated suicide multiple times.

Speaking in an interview on the Mic On Podcast hosted by Seun Okinbaloye, posted, Jideonwo shared deeply personal insights into his mental health struggles.

He explained that going through depression personally changed his perspective, making him realize that some individuals cannot overcome it through willpower alone and may require divine intervention or external support.

The media figure recounted that his descent into depression stemmed from a series of overwhelming life challenges.

These included difficulties in relationships and health issues that gradually built up pressure.

The situation worsened when he faced a major financial crisis, which ultimately tipped him over the edge into full-blown depression.

Jideonwo shared that during this dark period, he experienced intense feelings of despair, leading to repeated thoughts of death.

On one particularly desperate occasion, he stood on the Eko Bridge and came close to ending his life.

His words: “Because I’ve gone through depression, I know that there are some things that some people cannot get over by their own power, but by the grace of God. I felt like dying multiple times.
