‘I didn’t bathe, eat’ — Peller recounts 4-day ordeal in police cell

Habeeb Peller Hamzat, the TikTok personality, has opened up
about his ordeal in police custody, describing the physical and emotional toll
it took on him.

 

Peller, who was released on bail, took to his Snapchat page
on Thursday to reveal that he had spent nearly four days in a cell, an
experience he said was unprecedented in his life.

The influencer expressed gratitude for his release, stating,
“they wan wicked me, na God save me”.

Reflecting on the detention, Peller said the experience has
fundamentally changed his perspective on life and human relationships.

He also noted that the ordeal has taught him patience, even
in the face of provocation.

“I am ugly now i can’t show my face yet, omo I sleep cell
for almost 4 days it has never happened to me before in my life,” he said in
pidgin English.

“They wan wicked me nah God save me. Until u get problem nah
then u go know say nobody dey for u.

“Even if a 5-year-old pikin slap me now, nah to Dey look ham
o I go dey avoid wahala but wahala no wan avoid me.”

The content creator disclosed that he went without food and
water for most of his detention.

“I no chop for four good days, I no bath,” he said.

Peller said while in detention, he was nicknamed “001,”
adding that his upcoming wedding remains his top priority, after which he
intends to leave the country.

“Nah my wedding dey my mind. Na to dey waka jeje after
wedding japa,” he said.

“As they put me for cell, people wey dey cell talk say u be
our 001 now omo I bursts laugh once I no follow anybody talk till I comot? 001
wey una wan give water beans.”

BACKGROUND

The social media celebrity was arrested by the police
following an incident that occurred on July 2, 2026, along the Coastal Road in
Lekki, Lagos.

On Monday, Peller was arraigned before a magistrate’s court
in Lagos on three counts of resisting police officers and breaching public
peace.

He was also charged with conspiracy to commit a felony,
obstruction of police officers in the discharge of their duties, and conduct
likely to cause a breach of public peace.

After pleading not guilty to all three counts, the
magistrate granted him bail in the sum of N500,000.
