Horrifying incest cult with 38 children so inbred they couldn't see or speak

The discovery of a horrifying incest cult hidden within a family residence shocked those who exposed the disturbing circumstances.

A deeply troubling pattern of inbreeding, initiated by two great-great grandparents in an isolated farming community, came to light after evading detection for years.

Their offspring were found to be profoundly disabled and couldn’t talk or see due to continuous inbreeding. Social workers were appalled when they found 38 people living in deplorable conditions, all family members.

The children, victims of severe abuse, were so profoundly disabled that they couldn’t communicate verbally. Following their placement with foster families, their caregivers reported deeply concerning sexualized conduct.

In a disturbing turn, one of the parents later posted on Facebook with the disturbing caption “Love Makes a Family”, according to the New Zealand Herald, reports the Irish Mirror.

The nightmare for the Colts, a court-appointed pseudonym, started with June and Tim’s 1966 marriage in New Zealand before moving to Australia. The pair had seven children, with Martha being the youngest.

All 38 children in the group suffered extensive sexual abuse from siblings, cousins, fathers, an uncle, and a grandfather, across four generations. The Colt family initially drew official attention in June 2010.

Over the following two years, authorities submitted seven “risk of significant harm reports” focusing mainly on neglect, medical neglect, and truancy issues.

In 2010, social services finally accessed the improvised camp where the family lived. The location was devoid of even the most fundamental facilities, including running water and toilets.

The children were incapable of combing their hair, had no understanding of how to use toilet paper, couldn’t brush their teeth, and ate food with their hands.

The caravan’s food preparation area was covered in filth, vegetables were left decomposing in the refrigerator, and the bed linens appeared to be heavily soiled with dirt. A kangaroo was found sleeping on one of the children’s beds.

Several of the children exhibited visible physical abnormalities, with misaligned eyes, low-set ears, and appearances indicating they were decades older than their actual age. Only Rhonda’s five-year-old daughter was determined not to have been fathered by a blood relative.

All other children were the products of incest.

Despite genetic testing establishing otherwise, Betty, Martha, and Raylene all continue to deny that their children are the result of incest.

Three of the girls, aged seven, eight, and nine, stated their uncle, Charlie Colt, who lived on the property when the children were removed, was also their father. The nine-year-old also claimed that Charlie Colt had had sexual relations with her.
