Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of plotting to freeze the state government’s bank accounts just days before the August 15 governorship election.

The allegation was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday in Osogbo by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, on behalf of the governor.

Governor Adeleke described the alleged move as a deliberate attempt to destabilize the state’s finances and hinder government operations during a critical election period.

He warned that such actions could undermine democratic processes and the smooth running of governance in Osun.

The statement urged residents to remain calm and vigilant, assuring them that the government would resist any attempt to cripple its financial activities ahead of the polls.
