Fox News viewers slam Donald Trump's 'big mistake' after latest Iran military strikes

President Donald Trump ordered a large-scale military operation targeting Iranian forces, sparking backlash from Fox News audiences.

On July 12, Fox News covered the recent strikes against the Middle Eastern nation. During the Big Weekend Show, hosts Johnny “Joey” Jones, 39, and Tomi Lahren, 33, analyzed Trump’s fifth wave of military action against Iran. Throughout the broadcast, Lahren presented the official statement from U.S. Central Command live on air.

Lahren explained the strikes aim “to stop Iran’s attacks on commercial shipping vessels.” This occurred while Fox News host Jesse Watters was celebrating his 48th birthday away from his usual broadcasting duties.

“At 5 p.m. ET today, U.S. Central Command forces began launching more strikes against Iran to continue degrading their ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial ships freely transiting the Strait of Hormuz,” the statement read.

“The Commander-in-Chief has directed the strikes to hold Iranian forces accountable,” the text closed. Audiences flocked to social media platforms to condemn Trump’s recent military action against Iran, contending he was making poor choices, reports the Irish Star.

One individual commented, “This is a tickle for Iran. It’s a vast country. Trump made a big mistake.”

Another individual stated, “Mr. President, show proof of these strikes. We want photos since this war is costing us billions!”

A third posted, “This has no end. Please stop. You’re killing the U.S.”

Despite the pushback, Trump retained at least one backer who declared, “Bomb them into the Stone Age!” On July 8, the U.S. launched fresh missile strikes against Iran, responding to attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, though Tehran has yet to formally acknowledge any involvement.

Trump, who was attending the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, told reporters he considered both the ceasefire and the memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iran to be effectively dead. He warned that the U.S. would strike Iran “hard” that same day, labeling the country’s leadership “scum” and “vicious, violent people.

“It’s a very interesting question. To me, I think it’s over,” Trump said as he mentioned the ceasefire. “I don’t want to deal with them anymore, they’re scum. You know what scum is? They’re scum. They’re sick people. They’re led by sick people. And they’re vicious, violent people.

“And if they had a nuclear weapon, they’d use it. As far as I’m concerned it’s over. I’ll speak to our negotiators, they want to negotiate, they’re good people,” he continued. “Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, but they have to come back to me. As far as I’m concerned, it’s just a waste of time dealing with them. They’re liars.
