DJ Chicken Arrested Over Video Comment on President’s Son – Lawyer
Controversial TikTok personality and disc jockey, Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has been arrested in connection with a video he posted about President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu.
His lawyer, Rotimi Stephen, made the claim in a video posted on his Instagram page on Thursday.
Stephen said DJ Chicken was apprehended in Ikeja and taken to the Ikeja Police Headquarters, with possible involvement of the Department of State Services (DSS).
According to the lawyer, the arrest stems from a recent video in which DJ Chicken made inflammatory remarks about Seyi Tinubu.
In the clip, which went viral, the comedian said in Yoruba: “Tinubu, you can’t win the election. If you win, I will kill Seyi Tinubu. I won’t say more than that.”
Stephen appealed to DJ Chicken’s fans, well-wishers, and individuals close to the Presidency to intervene for his release.
He described the social media personality as someone he has personally mentored and supported as part of his efforts to give back to society.
“Please, fans and well wishers please. People that like Chicken and people that are close with the presidency please forgive Chicken. He is not that okay. We are just managing him,” the lawyer pleaded.
He added that the video in question was already in the public domain and urged the government to forgive the comedian.
As of the time of filing the report, neither the Nigeria Police Force nor the DSS had issued an official statement confirming the arrest or providing details on the matter.
