The Federal High Court in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, has
remanded two Mexican nationals and 4 Nigerians arrested over their alleged
involvement in working a methamphetamine in Tapa village, Ibarapa North LGA.

‎

The two Mexicans are recognized as Jose Villa Ochoa and
Carrera Loaiza Arturo, whereas the 4 Nigerians are Maxwell Uche Nevoh,
Olatunji Yusuf, Bankole Akeem Owolabi, and Ganiu Monsiu.

According to the NDLEA, Ochoa and the 4 Nigerian suspects
had been arrested on June 17, 2026, whereas Arturo was arrested on August 19, 2026,
as he tried to flee the nation by means of the Lagos airport.

Femi Babafemi, NDLEA spokesperson, had mentioned Ochoa was
introduced into the nation to offer technical experience for the large-scale
manufacturing of methamphetamine, whereas the Nigerian suspects dealt with logistics
and native operations.

In an announcement on Friday, Babafemi mentioned the defendants had been
arraigned on a four-count cost bordering on the alleged illegal
transportation and distribution of chemical substances for the aim of
manufacturing methamphetamine.

The six defendants pleaded not responsible to the fees.

‎After the defendants entered their pleas, Nkeonye Evelyn
Maha, the presiding decide, ordered that they be remand on the correctional
centre in Ibadan.

In September, the NDLEA found an “industrial-scale”
methamphetamine laboratory in Ebonyi state.
