Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal has dismissed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s presidential ambition as a “cheap product.”

In a Facebook post on Sunday titled “Kachalla Series Three,” Lawal also criticised the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over its handling of the Adamawa State governorship primary.

He claimed the party replaced Umar Suleiman, who he said won the primary, with Tukur Moddibo. Lawal alleged the change was driven by ethnic considerations and influenced by pressure from Atiku.

Drawing a comparison to low-cost online shopping, Lawal wrote: “As the story goes on the streets in the state, APC donated its gubernatorial candidate to the state having purchased him from TEMU the cheap online market place, and it appears that the ADC too has just done likewise, aside giving to the nation a presidential candidate that looks more like he too was a cheap product from TEMU.”
