Candace Owens Alleges Ben Shapiro 'Confessed' in Charlie Kirk Case, Sparks Fresh Row

Candace Owens has reignited her conflict with Ben Shapiro and Turning Point USA over Shapiro’s comments regarding security communications following Charlie Kirk’s shooting.

Conservative commentator Candace Owens has reignited her feud with Ben Shapiro and figures associated with Turning Point USA, claiming that remarks made by Shapiro about the moments following Charlie Kirk’s fatal shooting raise fresh questions about the handling of the incident.

In a series of posts on X on Tuesday, Owens pointed to Shapiro’s recent statement that his security team had been receiving updates from Charlie Kirk’s security team while Kirk was being rushed to hospital after the September 2025 shooting.

Owens argued that the revelation was troubling, questioning why security personnel were communicating with Shapiro’s team instead of focusing solely on Kirk’s medical emergency and the search for the gunman.

“Ben Shapiro just confessed on his show that while Charlie was being transported to the hospital and bleeding out, his security was on the phone with Charlie’s security receiving updates,” Owens wrote.

She further asked why Charlie Kirk’s security team was allegedly providing updates during what she described as the most critical moments after the shooting.

Owens also referenced Brian Harpole, a member of Kirk’s security team who has filed a defamation lawsuit against her over previous claims related to the case. She noted that Harpole is represented by an attorney who has also represented Shapiro in legal matters involving Owens.

Escalating her criticism, Owens claimed that Shapiro “hated Charlie” and questioned whether someone within Kirk’s security team had betrayed him. She also criticised Shapiro for not publicly discussing the alleged security communications sooner.

The comments are the latest chapter in Owens’ ongoing public dispute with former colleagues at The Daily Wire and Turning Point USA, which has included repeated allegations surrounding Charlie Kirk’s death and several legal battles.

The claims prompted a swift response from Daily Wire co-founder Jeremy Boreing, who rejected Owens’ interpretation of events.

Boreing said Shapiro did not maintain a separate security operation, explaining that security services were provided by the same firm for multiple clients. According to him, security personnel were informed of the shooting almost immediately and coordinated with Turning Point USA while also checking on the safety of other protected individuals, including Owens herself.

Owens disputed that explanation, pressing Boreing to identify whether members of the security firm were communicating with Charlie Kirk’s security team during the drive to the hospital.

The controversy stems from Shapiro’s recent discussion of post-shooting security communications. While Owens argues the exchange raises unanswered questions, her critics contend that such coordination is standard procedure during a major security incident involving multiple high-profile figures. No evidence has been presented publicly to suggest the communications interfered with emergency medical care or the subsequent criminal investigation.
