Bamanga Tukur: Fintiri declares 3 days mourning in Adamawa

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has declared three days of mourning followinh the demise of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, an Elder stateman and one of the prominent son of Adamawa state.

Tukur died on Saturday September 13, 2026 after a prolonged illness.

The governor made this announcement in a press statement made available to journalists in Yola, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.

Fintiri extended his condolences to Tukur, immidiate family, political associates, friends, well wishers and the entire people of Adamawa state on behalf of the state government over the irreplaceable lost.

He described the deceased elder stateman who was also a former Gongola state governor in the second Republic, minister of industry and PDP National chairman as a monumental lost not only to the people of Adamawa state, but Nigeria as a whole.

The governor further eulogised Tukur’s courage, foresight, patrotism, wisdom, wealth of experience and lifelong commitments to public service which would be greatly missed by Nigerians and the people of Adamawa state.

Fintiri further noted that, he will personally miss the wise counsels of the deceased elder stateman and depth of the experience he brought to matters concerning the state and its development.

The governor urged the people of the state to draw strength from his enduring legacy of service  and leadership, noting that, his passing  away have left a significance void that will be difficult to fill.
