APC ready to win across Lagos in 2027 – Sanwo-Olu declares
Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has expressed confidence in the All Progressives Congress, APC, preparations for the 2027 general elections, saying the party is working towards securing victory across the state.
Sanwo-Olu disclosed this in a statement posted on his X handle on Monday, following his visit to the APC’s presidential and governorship campaign offices to assess preparations for the upcoming elections.
The governor said the campaign committee had commenced strategic planning and was developing its approach to the 2027 polls.
He noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is seeking another term on the APC platform, the party’s Lagos governorship candidate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, and other candidates in the state remained committed to the campaign.
“The campaign committee is fully in its element, mapping out the road ahead and sharpening our strategy,” Sanwo-Olu said.
He added that “there is serious, structured work happening behind the scenes” as the party positions itself for the elections.
The governor said the level of commitment demonstrated by party members had further strengthened his confidence in the APC’s readiness, noting that the party was determined to sustain its political standing in Lagos.
“I am encouraged by the energy and sense of purpose,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu described the APC as “focused, aligned and ready to win across the board,” while pledging that the party would continue to pursue its development agenda in the state.
“Together, we will keep building on Lagos’s momentum and pushing our state forward,” the governor said.
