Albany Park Shooting: Chicago SWAT Officer Among Multiple People Shot
According to early reports, the injured officer was being taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center for treatment.
A Chicago police SWAT officer was among several people shot during a domestic incident in the city’s Albany Park neighbourhood on Monday, authorities said. The Chicago Fire Department said the shooting was reported at about 11:11 am in the 4600 block of North Springfield Avenue. Multiple people were struck by gunfire, including a member of the Chicago Police Department’s SWAT team.
Officials did not immediately provide the condition of the officer or confirm how many other people were injured.
Early police scanner traffic indicated that a SWAT officer had been shot, although Chicago police had not officially confirmed those reports.

Video from the scene shared by the Citizen App showed a large emergency response, with numerous police officers, SWAT personnel, ambulances and other emergency vehicles in the area as investigators continued to examine the scene.
Authorities have not said what led to the shooting, and the incident remains under investigation.
