Afenifere leader Pa Reuben Fasoranti passes away at 100

Pa Reuben Fasoranti, a outstanding chief of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, has died on the age of 100.

Fasoranti celebrated his one hundredth birthday on May 11, 2026.

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, introduced Fasoranti’s passing in a condolence message on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

The governor described the late elder statesman as a logo of knowledge, integrity and selfless service, noting that his contributions to the event of Ondo State, Yorubaland and Nigeria would stay indelible.

Aiyedatiwa mentioned Fasoranti’s counsel, fatherly steering and principled stance on justice and good governance can be sorely missed.

He commiserated with the deceased’s household, the individuals of Akure Kingdom and the whole state on behalf of the Ondo State Government and its individuals.

The governor additionally prayed for the peaceable repose of the late elder statesman’s soul.
