Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbass Tajudeen, has flagged off the distribution of 100 trailer-fertiliser to people of his immediate constituency and other 7 local government areas in Kaduna state.
Our correspondent reports that 26,000 people will benefit from phase 3 agricultural intervention, which is aimed at boosting agricultural production and ensure food security initiated by the speaker.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Abbas said in this farming season, the intervention was meant for only for 13 political wards that constitute Zaria Federal Constituency he is representing but was expanded to other 7 local government areas within the senatorial district in order to secure food sufficiency and security.
He pointed out that the elected officials at federal level, state and local government areas and all All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates of the various positions within the senatorial district would also be considered in the intervention for onward distribution to their supporters and loved ones.
