Abacha: ‘I’ve CCTV footage’, Al-Mustapha dismisses ex-DSS officer’s claims

Former Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, has dismissed claims made by a former Department of State Services (DSS) officer, Mr. Dennis Amachree, on the final moments of the late military ruler, insisting that he has CCTV footage of what transpired.
Speaking with journalists in Kaduna on Saturday, Al-Mustapha described the account contained in the former DSS officer’s book as false, alleging that the author was influenced by others to write it.
“The boy was asked by others to write those lies. I have all the CCTV footages of what happened in my custody, so what he said is not true,” Al-Mustapha said.
He maintained that the version of events presented in the publication did not reflect what actually happened, insisting that the CCTV footage in his possession contradicts the claims made by the former DSS officer.
Al-Mustapha urged members of the public to disregard the account, saying it was unfair to make what he described as false claims against someone who was no longer alive to defend himself.
“Just ignore his lies. It’s bad to say such things about someone who is dead,” he said.
The former presidential aide, however, did not disclose details of the footage but maintained that it accurately captured the events surrounding Abacha’s final moments and refuted the claims contained in the book.
