60-Year-Old Man Dies In Jigawa Hotel
The Jigawa State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of a 60-year-old man who died after falling ill at a hotel in Dutse.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, said the man had checked into the hotel with a 20-year-old woman before he suddenly developed a medical emergency after requesting a meal.
“He was immediately evacuated to the General Hospital, Dutse, where he was examined by medical personnel and unfortunately certified dead,” Adam said.
He said detectives recovered food items, beverages, a suspected sexual enhancement substance and other personal belongings from the hotel room for further examination.
“The 20-year-old lady who was present at the time of the incident is cooperating with investigators by providing useful information to assist in establishing the sequence of events,” Adam said.
The police spokesperson urged residents to avoid speculation, saying, “The investigation will be conducted thoroughly, professionally and impartially.”
He assured the public that further updates would be provided as the investigation progresses.
