2027 elections: Reps minority caucus, G-100 unite for formidable opposition against APC

‎The Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives has vowed to join foreces with the G-100 to build a strong and united opposition against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027 general election.

‎Minority Leader of the House, Frederick Agbedi, gave the assurance on Tuesday during a meeting with members of the G-100 at the National Assembly Complex.

According to him, the meeting marked the beginning of a partnership between the two groups aimed at strengthening democratic participation.

He said Nigerians are facing serious economic and social challenges, thus, the need for opposition political parties to unite and provide an alternative direction.

‎”Nigerians are seriously in pain, Nigerians are wailing and Nigerians are frustrated. “There is strength in unity, and we’ll work collectively to challenge the APC at the next election, Agbedi said.

Leader of the G-100 delegation, and former Director-General of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Dr Salihu Lukman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), said the initiative was driven by concerns over the state of the nation, and the fragmentated opposition.

“A opposition parties, we seem to be fragmented. And if we continue the way we are going, we are almost going to replay 2023 scenario. And it’s almost like a case of handing over victory to the ruling party. And then we’ll go back to square one,” he said.
