2027 elections: Danger forward, violence turning into problem – Hakeem Baba-Ahmed
A former presidential aide, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has warned of risks forward, as Nigeria prepares for the 2027 basic elections.
Baba-Ahmed warned that violence is turning into a serious problem within the run-up to the 2027 elections.
Posting on X, the National Leader of the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, stated campaigns are threatened by violence.
He wrote: “Violence in many forms is becoming a major issue in the run-up to the 2027 elections.
“Normal marketing campaign actions are being significantly threatened by precise or threatened violence.
“Citizens are being emboldened by failures to rein-in thugs and other violent activities. Danger ahead.”
This comes because the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, accused the Department of State Services, DSS, of recruiting protesters to disrupt his celebration’s marketing campaign rally in Sokoto State.
