16-year-old arrested, several casualties reported following shooting at a school in Germany

Multiple people have been wounded after a suspect launched a violent attack at a secondary school in Germany, it is reported. 
More than 15 patrol cars rushed to the Welfen-Gymnasium in Schongau, Bavaria, at around 12.50pm local time today, July 8. 
Police are urging members of the public to avoid the area while the emergency response continues. 
German newspaper Bild reported four people seriously wounded in a the shooting. 
German police said a suspect has been arrested and numerous forces are operating at the scene.
There are indications this was a planned k!lling spree.
Police have confirmed a 16-year-old suspect has been arrested and that two girls were seriously injured. 
Several victims are understood to have stab wounds. 
Officers are continuing to investigate the incident and have not yet confirmed the full circumstances or whether the suspect is linked to the school. 
The horror attack reportedly took place during school hours, on the grounds and outside the high school. 
According to German outlet Bild, the suspect fled the scene. 
A police helicopter was deployed in a search and the alleged perpetrator was apprehended shortly after.
