15 rescued as trailer crashes on Kano-Zaria Road
Fifteen people have been rescued and taken to Kura General Hospital for medical attention after a DAF trailer conveying passengers and goods was involved in a road crash along the Kano-Zaria Road.
The crash occurred around Gadan Yankifi in the early hours of Sunday, August 23, 2026, causing a temporary obstruction on the busy highway.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kano Sector Command, said the incident was reported at about 5:00 a.m., with its rescue team arriving at the scene within five minutes of receiving the distress call.
“No death was recorded in the crash, while a total of 15 persons were rescued and evacuated to Kura General Hospital for medical attention,” the Sector Public Education Officer, CRC AA Labaran, said.
Following the incident, the Sector Commander, CC IM Lawal, deployed the Corps’ tow truck to the scene to assist in clearing the obstruction and restoring the free flow of traffic.
The FRSC advised motorists using the Kano-Zaria Road to exercise patience, reduce their speed when approaching the affected area and obey traffic rules.
“Motorists are advised to cooperate with FRSC personnel and other emergency responders at the scene as efforts continue to completely clear the obstruction and restore normal traffic flow,” Labaran said.
